USNMix Report: Facebook removed the employee

who objected to Trump’s post. 

Facebook has shown its way out to an employee who protested against not doing a fact check of US President Donald Trump’s post. The employee last month criticized Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s decision not to take action against a provocative post by Donald Trump. 

The name of the employee that Facebook has removed is Brandon Dale, who was working as a user interface engineer at Facebook. Brandon has tweeted, claiming that he was sacked for publicly scolding a colleague who refused to include his statement in support for the Black Lives Matter movement. Facebook has confirmed Dale’s dismissal but has not provided any information regarding the reasons for his dismissal.

Enlarge that Trump issued a tweet on demonstrations in Minneapolis over the death of George Floyd in police custody, on which Twitter issued a warning but on the same post Facebook said that the post does not violate the company’s policy. The Facebook decision was opposed by some Facebook employees and said they were ’embarrassed’ at it.

Following Twitter’s fact check, Mark Zuckerberg criticized Twitter in an interview, saying that private companies should not do so. Following Zuckerberg’s statement, there was discontent among Facebook employees and many have refused to work virtually. Many employees had also suggested changes in the content policy of Facebook. 

Following this protest, Zuckerberg has decided to review Facebook’s policies. He had said in a post that he would review the policies of Facebook and it would be changed if needed. He supported the Black Lives Matter movement in his post, writing, ‘He supports the Black Lives Matter movement and will soon start reviewing the company’s policies. We will emphasize on the review of the policies of the movement against police force and civil violence in a country.
